First edition Startup Drinks Brabant
On Monday September 12th we organized the first edition of Startup Drinks Brabant. The plan for such an event has been in the making for quite some time now. While other major startup cities in the Netherlands already have some kind of informal community event, we couldn’t find one in Brabant yet. So we took matters into our own hands and together with some of our partners we organized our first get together.
Entrepreneurship is at an all-time high right now. This also sparks the interest of students to start their own businesses. However, how to start? What are the pitfalls others have encountered? What should I prioritize right now?
Exactly for the people with these questions, we wanted to organize an event that brings together new entrepreneurs with veterans who have already been through it all. We realized it can be quite daunting when you have to speak up at a large event to get input for your startup. That is why the event itself is modeled like a simple drink with friends. That means no podium, no structured pitches and no speakers. It can’t get any more approachable than that.

The first edition of the Startup Drinks Brabant was exactly like this. Over 25 young entrepreneurs gathered at a bar in Eindhoven to discuss everything. From new ideas, finances, market possibilities, problems, friends, family and of course sports! The night was filled with fun and jokes and a lot of new connections have been made. We believe that such events make networking more approachable for anyone. Through such events, we hope to strengthen the startup community in Brabant.
And it doesn’t stop here…
After the success of the first edition, we are excited to announce that we will make this a reoccurring event! That means that together with our partners we will host the event each month. Startup Drinks Brabant II will take place on Monday October 10 at 8 pm at the Drinkers Pub (Kerkstraat 11) in Eindhoven. Make sure to block this night in your calendar as you don’t want to miss this!
